Be a Texican in Irving, Texas

The Toyota Music factory in Irving is a relatively new venue in the DFW area but is one that needs to be on your radar. If you're like us and the thought of leaving city limits and heading north on 114 makes you cringe; fear not, we have the perfect plan to make your out of town

concert journey a truly unforgettable experience. Hopefully, we will all be able to venture out to concerts again soon, so until the bookmark this place.

First off, you have to stay at the Texican Court Hotel. Designed to be reminiscent of an old, West Texas roadside Motel, it is a welcoming oasis with plenty of places to lounge by the pool, sitting areas, or inside at the Cantina.

The rooms are tastefully decorated to match the hotel's theme and make it hard to leave your room. We wished we would have had more time to simply enjoy the hotel.

Before the concert, you will want to grab a bite to eat and have a few drinks to get yourself in the mood. We recommend The Thirsty Lion Gastro Pub. A modern take on a classic English pub with food worth going back for.

We started with a Scotch Egg-in my opinion you can never go wrong with these. Michal had the seared steak salad and I had the Adobo Pork Benedict. (A play on eggs benedict, with cornbread, poached eggs, and a spicy red chili pork) All were excellent. The beer list was also on point, showcasing beers from around Texas and around the world. They also offer beer flights too.

After the show, there are plenty of places to keep your evening rockin’. Whether it's two-stepping at Mama Tried, beer at The Yard House or sake at The Blue Fish, you’ll have plenty of options. We stopped at Bar Louie to have a beer before we retired for the night.

We also recommend stopping by Two Mules Cantina for brunch the next morning before you start the short drive back to Dallas.

All-in-all, we had an amazing time in Irving. We cannot wait to be able to go to concerts again and see what more the music factory will have to offer. Aside from the music, the area provides a great region to stay, eat and drink safely with a truly unique hotel experience and tastes for any pallet. We know you will enjoy it.
