Bite Bistro, which was introduced to us through a simple instagram like, is a fantastic lunch spot that has everything you need for a delivered to your door quarantine lunch date.
In these unprecedented times, we wanted to take the time to review some of best restaurants in our neighborhood that are opting to remain open by serving amazing food to-go and via delivery. Our hope is that, like us, at least one day a week you can help support one of these much deserving restaurants. If any restaurants have to close to their doors due to the mandatory closures, everybody loses: the employees, the owners, the patrons and the neighborhoods in which they serve.
Michal and I rarely got to eat lunch together during the week before Covid 19. Now in the last 6 weeks we have eaten lunch so much together we are almost sick of each other. To turn things on its head Michal proposed that we do a lunch time quarantine date. During that date, we wanted to try out a restaurant that has been a fan of ours from the beginning, Bite Bistro. We were shocked when we got our first Dallas restaurant follower that wasn't one of our friends’ places.
They are a Dallas bistro with rock solid food AND serve breakfast all day!! Bite Bistro, we are forever grateful of your support and we that we can share the love and show our support of you.
So, enough of the thank yous and Dallas support stuff and on to the lunch date. Bite Bistro has a solid repertoire of lunch standards: salads, sandwiches and paninis. Unfortunately our pajama pants and living room floor romantic lunch date was spoiled by Uber Eats leaving out a sandwich (clearly their issue and not BB’s) and putting in a few extra cookies instead. Michal had the Thai Chicken salad, which she thoroughly enjoyed and I had my side of pasta salad, three cookies and a brownie. Based on what we ate we are sure the missing Turkey Club was totally awesome!
The cookies were homemade; we had the chocolate chip and pecan chocolate chip (?) and both were to die for! The brownie was frosted with some sort of creamy goodness and was worth its weight in gold. I am quite happy I made the decision to eat my dessert first!
The pasta salad was also solid. It took me back to a family reunion where my mother would male sure to tell me, ‘eat the pasta salad and the chicken’ because she knew who brought it. This salad was that good.
Michal enjoyed her Thai Chicken salad and also really enjoyed the croissant (after the salad of course because she is a lady).
Why did she have a croissant you ask? Because they were out of cinnamon rolls. They are so good at what they do, they run out of freakin cinnamon rolls. Who would have thought?! We seriously can't wait to try them as Cinnamon rolls are something we both love! Hopefully we’ll get to soon in person after this quarantine ends for good.
To close, if you are looking for a fantastic lunch and a great way to spend some time with the people that you love, we highly recommend Bite Bistro. And, if you are at work with the people you don't love, Bite Bistro also does catering and you can take yours back to your own space to eat it alone. Haha! Be the new office favorite by suggesting it as the next place to it… you won’t regret it. Oh, and shortly after we ate, it was back to work for us! #WKNDR
