In these unprecedented times, we wanted to take the time to review some of best restaurants in our neighborhood that are opting to remain open by serving amazing food to-go and via delivery.
Our hope is that, like us, at least one day a week you can help support one of these much deserving restaurants. If any restaurants have to close to their doors due to the mandatory closures, everybody loses; the employees, the owners, the patrons and the neighborhoods in which they serve.
Formerly a Lowest Greenville mainstay, Nora's is now bringing some kick ass Afghan food to the Bishop Arts district. A little out of the way for you? Who cares! It has to be delivered anyway right? Step out of the ordinary and order some of their amazing food.
Having Nora's delivered via Grub hub tonight, we must say, their food quality has not diminished one bit. The hummus was flipping amazing; that tiny tub you waited in line to pick up at Kroger yesterday will never be the same again; we can guarantee it.
The Chicken and Yogurt is a savory treat. The chicken is tender and smothered in an unreal yogurt sauce that gets soaked into a piece of naan bread that you just can not wait to devour. That naan bread at the end, I kid you not, was to die for. Split the dish and you will fight for the bread. The Ribeye Kebab was spectacular. Very well seasoned and not overcooked. The saffron rice had raisins that brought a pop of sweetness and texture, which were the perfect accompaniment to the pieces of meat. Though it has been a dismal week, this food brought something fun and different to our home. We are certain it would do the same for you and hope you give it a shot.
As for the atmosphere, we regrettably cannot comment. The exterior is beautiful as we walked past it a few weekends ago (before the mayhem begun), and if the new location is half as great as the Lowest Greenville spot, we are in for an unbelievable treat.
If you find your self stuck at home, looking for something new to eat and ready for something different; look to your neighbors, even if they are across town. Take care of yourselves out there #dallaswkndr.
